Love Growing Old

It was high up in the Rockies, the air was thin and cold.

My brain may have of been a little numb, but my heart was already sold.

On the life we’d have together, creating memories more valuable than gold.

We shared our dreams and faced our fears, our commitment grew tenfold.

As we clung to one another; nothing we’d withhold.

We weathered every challenge, expecting the miraculous and bold.

As the years quickly mounted ~ time seemed uncontrolled.

Memories came, love held tight; just as my heart foretold.

More than thirty years have swept through our lives, and the beauty we now behold.

Is that the love that grew through all those days…

Will remain as we grow old.
